Survey Work

Project contractors for the Park City Wind project conducted Ground Penetrating Radar survey work (GPR) from April to June 2023 in Centerville. This work completed initial GPR survey work that began in Summer 2022 for the project. There was no digging or road closures or traffic impacts involved with this work.

This work took place on sections of the following public roadways:

  • A section of Craigville Beach Road from near Craigville Beach to the Four Seas intersection of Craigville Beach Road/South Main Street/Main Street

  • A section of Shootflying Hill Road from the intersection of Shootflying Hill Road/Old Stage Road to the future project substation site at the current Knights Inn located at 8 Shootflying Hill Road

Other portions of the preferred project route GPR survey work on Main Street and Old Stage Road were already completed in Summer 2022.

The information from this survey work will help our project team design plans for offshore wind duct bank installation under roadways, by mapping the exact locations of the current COMM water mains and National Grid gas lines.
